Do all online colleges and universities offer the same degrees online as they do on campus?
No, many online courses and degree programs offered by the giant, for-profit online universities are less rigorous, aren't taught by experienced faculty and don't adhere to the same practices you would find at traditional, accredited schools. UMass Lowell's online courses are taught by the same full-time and adjunct faculty that teach on campus.
UMass Lowell's Commitment to Quality
At UMass Lowell, we have made a deliberate commitment to providing the highest level of quality in moving our traditional on-campus programs into the online format. In all of the new degree or certificate programs we develop, our faculty, staff and online course development team have made it their mission to provide the same level of quality content online as we strive for in our on-campus programs.
Has it been easy? No. Would we do it this way again? Absolutely!
When we hear from so many of our graduates about the difference our courses, degrees and certificate programs have made in their lives and in their professional careers, we can't imagine doing it any other way.
What will my degree say?
Many people who pursue their degree online wonder if their diploma will be emblazoned with the word "Online" all over their diploma. Not at UMass Lowell. A degree from UMass Lowell is a degree from UMass Lowell, whether you pursue your degree on campus, online or as a combination of online and on-campus courses.
