UMass Lowell's Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology: Business Minor is designed for Information Technology students who are interested in gaining fundamental knowledge of management concepts and business practices. In addition to providing students with exposure to business and management principles, this program also presents an ideal opportunity for IT students who may be thinking about pursuing their MBA upon completion of their bachelor's degree.

This part-time degree program is available entirely online or as a mix of online and on-campus courses, providing a high degree of flexibility and convenience for busy adult students and working professionals.

UMass Lowell offers courses during three semesters each year: Fall (Sept-Dec), Spring (Jan-May) and Summer (May-Aug). We recommend that students not take more than 1 or 2 courses during their first semester so that they can gauge the amount coursework required. Subsequent course loads may be determined by the students' own personal time constraints.

Information Technology Core Requirements (2 courses / 6 credits):

    • INFO.2020 Microsoft Office (3cr) - Available Fall 2016!
    • Students who can document proficiency with Microsoft Office may substitute an upper-level Information Technology Elective in place of INFO.2020.

** Note: Students cannot get credit for both INFO.2670 and the INFO.2110/INFO.2120 sequence; INFO.2120 can be counted as an Information Technology Elective if INFO.2110 is also taken.

Approximately 2 months prior to the start of each semester, Online and Continuing Education posts the new course schedule to the website. Once you've decided which course(s) you would like to take, returning students can register using SIS self-service, while new students must use the Non Degree Registration Form.
