UMass Lowell, a leader in information technology and criminal justice education, is pleased to host a Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop in collaboration with Advoqt and SSJM Attorneys at Law. The workshop is targeted at small and midsize businesses, which are among the most susceptible when it comes to targeted cyberattacks.
Workshop attendees will gain the knowledge they need to initiate an effective cybersecurity plan and obtain workforce training that will secure their businesses. The workshop will be followed by a networking reception.
Larry Wilson is the former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in the University of Massachusetts President's Office, where he was responsible for developing, implementing and managing the University of Massachusetts Information Security Policy and Written Information Security Program (WISP). The University's program is based on a "NCSF Controls FactoryTM" approach that Larry created to help organizations operationalize the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and industry best practices (ISO 27001, SANS 20 Critical Controls, etc.) across an enterprise and its supply chain. Take I-495 to Exit 49 and follow Rt 110/113 East for 2.4 miles. Harbor Place will be on your right at the corner of Merrimack and Main Streets, next to Basiliere Bridge. Public parking is available in the municipal metered parking lot directly across the street from Harbor Place. The lower-level of this metered parking facility can be accessed from Merrimack Street; the upper-level can be accessed from Main Street. Parking is 50 cents per hour Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Outside of these hours and on Saturdays and Sundays parking is free.
