UMass Lowell Continuing Studies, Corporate & Distance Education

University of Massachusetts Lowell Continuing Studies, Corporate & Distance Education is pleased to announce our expanded Online Teaching Institute. These online workshops which are led by experts in the area of online teaching and course development, are open only to the UMass System Faculty. Participants attend "class" by logging into the course website and interacting with session leaders and fellow participants anytime during the course session.

Introduction to Online Teaching with Blackboard Vista (Noncredit)

This course introduces pedagogical principles, skills and strategies for effective online teaching and course management. Participants will develop their online course syllabus, appropriate online course materials, course assignments and expectations. Once course materials have been developed, participants will be given access to their own online course in Blackboard Vista where they will begin to post and build their courses within Blackboard Vista. This course simulates an online instructor-led asynchronous classroom, providing a model for online instruction.

Cost: $795 per session for UMass System Faculty (Free of charge for UML Faculty)
