Emergency Contact Information
Responding to increased concerns about security issues of all kinds on
University campuses nationwide, we are initiating a process to require
students to provide and/or verify Emergency Contact Information on a
regular basis. This information will be used to contact designated
individuals in the event of an emergency involving you as a student on
campus. When you first log into ISIS for any reason this semester, you will
notice an entry in Your Holds Summary indicating
Emergency Contact Verification.
This “Hold” will prevent all Registration/Add/Drop/Swap a Class activity
until you take action to verify your Emergency Contact Information. You will
be able to release this hold yourself through ISIS by clicking on the hold
and following the instructions. We encourage you to be proactive and verify
this information BEFORE
you actually need to register for classes or use Add/Drop/Swap a
Class functionality in ISIS. For assistance, a Help document has been posted
on the ISIS website. |

Update on Graduate Course Withdrawal
for Fall 2009 (posted on 11/13/09)
The last day to withdraw from a graduate class
is Monday, December 7, 2009.
Please log onto your ISIS account and drop your
class. Please note: Because ISIS will be
down from November 24th through December 2, 2009
(7am) you will not be able to withdraw from
classes using ISIS. If you wish to withdraw from
graduate classes during this time, you must
submit a signed letter to the registrar's
office. You may fax the letter to:
(978) 934-4076 or mail to: University of
Massachusetts Lowell, Registrar's Office, 883
Broadway St.
Lowell, MA 01854. You may also come to the
Registrar's Office in Dugan Hall 101 on South
Campus. The Registrar's Office will not be
open November 26th or 27th. If you have any
questions, please email:
registrar@uml.edu or call (978) 934-2550.

Wait Listing
You may now put yourself on a wait list through ISIS if the course you want
is full. When you try to register for a closed course, the system will ask
you if you want to be put on a wait list. The wait list function also allows
you to list a course you would like to drop if you are allowed into the
closed course.
If space becomes available in a
course, the wait list function will add you into the class in the order of
your request. Please note that you will not be notified if you are
put into the closed course. Check your schedule in ISIS to see if
you are registered for the closed course.
If you no longer wish to register for a course you are wait listed for, you
must remove yourself from the wait list through ISIS. If you do not
remove yourself from the wait list, you run the risk of being registered for
a course and will be responsible for the grade received as well as the
tuition and fees incurred.
First time students may request to be
put on the waitlist by filling out the form located at:
http://www.uml.edu/admin/registrar/docs/waitlist.pdf and faxing it to
the number indicated.
ISIS will not put students into courses that have a time conflict or in
courses where prerequisites are enforced.
Fall 2009
Withdrawal with "W" Notation
