The Continuing Studies Dean's Scholarship awards are for $1,000 and may be continued on a semester basis, conditional upon satisfactory academic performance. The maximum length of the award is 4 semesters.
Eligibility Guide (check to see if you qualify):
- Are you an undergraduate student enrolled in either an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in the Division of Online and Continuing Education?
- Are you a U.S. citizen (or eligible non-citizen).
- Will you have completed at least 24 or more credits at UML towards an undergraduate degree as of September 2011?
- During the 2012-2013 academic year, will you be taking a minimum of two courses or 5 credit hours each semester? (Fall and Spring terms)
- Do you have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 from UMass Lowell courses, with no more than 30 transfer credits towards an Associate's degree or 60 transfer credits towards a Bachelor's degree?
If you can answer "yes" to the 5 questions above, you may be eligible for the Dean's Scholarship. These scholarships will be for $1,000 per semester up to $2,000 per academic year, and they may be renewed for one additional year.
Scholarship restrictions: If a scholarship winner withdraws from the University, the remainder of his/her scholarship will be forfeited and not renewable.
Finalists will be selected by a committee and may be invited to meet with representatives of this committee in April. Announcement of these scholarships will be made in early May. The scholarship will take effect for the first semester of the next academic year (September 2012).
