Directions to the University

Lowell is located conveniently between two major airports: Logan International Airport in Boston, MA and the Manchester, NH Regional Airport. Click here for Hotel and Travel Information. Attendees flying in for the seminars will need to arrange for daily transportation between their hotel and the University campus.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell is located approximately 25 miles northwest of Boston, and is easily accessible from Routes 3, 93, 95 and 495. Unless otherwise notes, all seminars are held on the University's North Campus in Ball Hall. If you want to map out your route via the Internet or a GPS system,  the address to get to Ball Hall on UMass Lowell's North Campus is 185 Riverside Street, Lowell, MA 01854. The parking lot entrance is at 42 Sparks Street - See map below for details.

From Rte 495:

Take Exit 35C to the Lowell Connector.*

From Rte 93:

Take Rte 93 North or South to Exit 46, Rte 110 West towards Lowell following the Merrimack River for approximately 6.5 miles. In Lowell, Rte 110/38 exits off to the right but you should stay straight going under the overpass and continuing straight on the VFW Highway for approximately two miles and then take a right onto University Avenue. Ball Hall is the third building on the right, at the corner of University Ave and Riverside Street.

From Rte 3 North:

Take Exit 30B to the Lowell Connector.*

From Rte 3 South:

Take Exit 30A towards I-495 North-IMMEDIATELY take Exit 35C to the Lowell Connector.

From Rte 95/128:

Follow Rte 95/128 North or South to the Burlington area and take Rte 3 North. to Exit 30B, the Lowell Connector.

Directions from Logan International Airport:

Exit Logan Airport and follow signs for Rte 1A South towards Interstate 93/Sumner Tunnel/Boston. Go through the toll booth and continue on through the Sumner Tunnel. Stay left upon exiting the tunnel and merge onto I-93 North. Continue on I-93 to Exit 46, Rte 110 West towards Lowell following the Merrimack River. In Lowell, Rte 110/38 exits off to the right but you should stay to the left, continuing straight and going under the overpass, keeping the river on your left. After approximately 2 miles up, take a right onto University Ave. Ball Hall is the 3rd building on the right, at the corner of University Ave and Riverside Street.

Directions from Manchester Airport:

Take a right onto Brown Avenue and go straight through three sets of lights. After 3rd light, take a left onto Rte I-293N. On I-293N head toward Bedford. Take the Everett Turnpike South, which becomes Rte 3 South once you cross the state border into MA. Follow Rte 3 South, and take Exit 30A towards I-495 North-IMMEDIATELY take Exit 35C to the Lowell Connector. 

*Directions From the Lowell Connector:

Take Exit 5B for Thorndike Street. Follow straight through several sets of lights for approximately one mile. (Be aware that Thorndike Street turns into Dutton Street). When you approach the set of lights with the Hess Gas Station on your left, take a slight left - keeping Cobblestones Restaurant on your right. Do NOT take a full left. At the next set of lights you will see the Tsongas Center directly in front of you, take a left onto Father Morissette Boulevard and follow for a half mile through several sets of lights. Take a right onto University Avenue and go over the bridge. Ball Hall is the third building on the right, at the corner of University Avenue and Riverside St.

Plastics Seminars & Workshops are held on UML North in Ball Hall

Parking:

There is parking available off Riverside St. in the Riverside Lot, which is about 1/4 mile down from the corner of University Ave. and Riverside St. Entrance to the lot is at the far end: 42 Sparks Street, Lowell, MA by GPS. For a detailed campus map of UML North, visit  www.uml.edu/maps/north.htm
