OVERVIEW
This course provides fundamental information on all areas of rubber technology and covers the history of materials and present-day applications. Structure, mechanical behavior, design of rubber components and processing characteristics of thermoset elastomer materials are also addressed. In addition to the basic information, class material will touch upon compounding, product development and developing materials for specific applications. Included in this course will be a laboratory on mixing and injection molding of rubber compounds.
