Course Description This course will address current issues related ot information ownership, confidentiality and reproduction, identity theft, the need to properly document processes and dispose of data. This course will be value to students interested in sensitive industries (e.g., health care, banking, information service) or functions (e.g., marketing, accounting, IS, compliance). Topics covered will include Internet credit fraud, phishing and ambush marketing, HIPAA compliance, impact of EU-mandated data privacy compliance on US companies, email archiving policies, MIS security policies and practical consequences of Gramm-Leach-Bililey adn Sarbanes-Oxley sections 404 and 802. If known in advance students' background will be taken into account in course design.
